There is a solid prediction in here, and that is that this rich messaging standard will end up being the defacto standard for messaging. It’s not just that some of the same features iPhone users enjoy amongst each other will be there, it’s that those features, and many extensions of rich web functionality will now be interoperable between platforms.
RCS has been promoted by Google as their answer to iMessage and is the backbone behind the new “Chat” features in Android Messages.
